The F.C.C. requires Telecom Tower owners to meet AM Compliance requirements for their towers.  Telecom Site Screening, Telecom Tower Detuning, Method of Moment Analysis or Field Measurements, are AM Compliance items the F.C.C. requires tower owners to perform. These requirements are necessary to ensure that construction or modification of telecommunications towers will not interfere with local AM broadcast stations signal.

In 2013 the FCC published Rules and Regulations,  47 CFR Part 1-30002-30004. These rules describe the exact criteria to determine whether a tower site may cause AM broadcast signal pattern interference.  AM signal interference issues are routinely resolved using techniques developed by R.F. Communications Engineers over the last Century.
